We get a few jobs in a month where a customer has been sent something stretched from overseas and it arrives damaged. Most of the time it is because of the inferior cheap canvas bars that have been made for the artwork. This customer paid a lot for this canvas and the stretching bar it was on was not high quality at all as you can see from the other image with their bar on top and ours below.
All our bars are nice and thick and they are joined with wood glue and framing nails. This bar is joined with a small piece of wood joining the two with pressure and also the structural pressure of the canvas which is not a good mix. All up the total repair job and replacement bar was only $280.
